SkillWise respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you use our mobile app (“SkillWise First Aid App”) or website (www.skillwise.ie).

SkillWise is a First Aid education provider based in Ireland. We offer digital learning tools and certified training courses.

We collect and store the following data when you use our app:

  • Email address (only for account creation)

  • Nickname (used for leaderboard display)

  • County (for leaderboard and usage insights)

  • Quiz scores (to provide feedback and rankings)

  • Firebase User ID (for internal app functionality)

If you use the app as a guest, no identifiable data is collected or stored.

3. Why We Collect Your Data

We use your data to:

  • Enable secure login and user access

  • Show your quiz scores on national/county leaderboards

  • Help you track your progress

  • Improve learning features and app performance

  • Contact you only if you consent (e.g., about certification options)

4. HOW WE STORE AND PROTECT YOUR DATA

We use Google Firebase (Authentication and Firestore) to store your data securely. Google’s servers are compliant with international data security standards.

We implement appropriate safeguards to prevent unauthorized access, including encryption and secure access controls.

5. WHO WE SHARE DATA WITH

We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties. We may use anonymized data to improve app features or report general usage trends.

6. YOUR RIGHTS UNDER GDPR

You have the right to:

  • Access a copy of your personal data

  • Request correction or deletion

  • Withdraw your consent

7. DATA RETENTION

We retain user data only as long as it’s needed to deliver app features. Guest mode users' data is not stored. Registered user data can be deleted on request.

8. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

This app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under this age without parental consent.

9. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy. If we make material changes, users will be notified in the app or via email.

10. SkillWise App

The information provided in the SkillWise First Aid App is intended for general knowledge-sharing and First Aid awareness only.

It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

While we strive to keep content accurate and up to date, SkillWise and its creators do not accept any responsibility for errors, omissions, or outcomes related to the use of this app.

11. AED Locator / AED Finder

The AED Finder feature in the SkillWise app uses location data to help users find nearby Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs). We do not share personal location data with third parties. AED information is collected from public sources and community contributions. While we aim to keep listings accurate and up to date, we cannot guarantee completeness or availability.
